Drugs for sale or trade on Craigslist

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) – An unusual post on Craigslist.org had some people taking a second look. Someone claiming they're from Carolina Beach posted they are trying to sell or trade their prescription drugs for something a little stronger.

The post said the person's doctor recently switched them from Hydrocodone to a weaker painkiller, and they want to get their hands back on something stronger.

The person even posted a picture of the drugs they want to sell or trade.

The post has since been removed from the website. Selling prescription drugs is against the law.

Folks get their twang on for first-of-its-kind festival

KURE BEACH, NC (WECT) – Folks from all over the area, even from as far away as Georgia, helped kick off the first annual Bluegrass by the River Festival.

The Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce organized the festival. The chamber puts on several festivals, celebrating different genres of music. But this is the first time for a bluegrass festival.

"Judging it right now we're going to make it a yearly thing. So we're excited about that," said Chamber chairman Mike Worley.

He said the weather helped to bring out a big crowd and he expects about 1,000 people attended throughout the day.

People could buy food and other items from vendors while listening and dancing to some bluegrass music.
