CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) – A 20-year-old Carolina Beach man has been missing since last Thursday, a spokesperson for the Wilmington Police Department said.
John Calvin Pensyl, of the 300 block of Canal Drive, was last seen at the bus stop near the Lowes Home Improvement Store on Carolina Beach Road, according to Cpl. Kevin A. Smith. Pensyl was reportedly wearing a dark hoodie, khaki shorts, black and white tennis shoes, and carrying a black backpack.
The missing man, who is a frequent rider on the Wave Transit bus system, is described as 5’9” and 160 pounds, with short brown hair and a “scraggly” beard. He has blue/grey eyes and a light complexion.
Smith said that Pensyl takes medication that renders his speech slow and slurred, and that he needs those medications.
Anyone with information about Pensyl is asked to call the Wilmington Police Department at 910-343-3600 or Detective Lee Odham at 910-343-3686.
