WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Wilmington Regional Film Commission and Queensboro Shirt Company have teamed up to make it easier for residents to show their support for film.
Anyone can go to www.wilmingtonfilm.com and click on the "online store" tab to purchase WRFC apparel ranging from hats and t-shirts to jackets and polo shirts.
“The film industry belongs to all of us who live here,” said Wilmington Regional Film Director Johnny Griffin in a press release. “It’s a thriving industry that brought in 113 Million dollars locally just last year. It creates good jobs, provides a consistent revenue stream for a lot of local businesses, and makes our area a more interesting and attractive place to live and work. Our goal for working with Queensboro on this project is to give local residents a chance to own a part of the industry, and to visibly support it.”
There are currently seven productions in the Wilmington area, with several more slated to begin in the next few months, according to a press release.
“We encourage everyone to visit the site and see what is available,” said Griffin. “The items feature our award-winning logo, and we’ve done our best to keep costs down so that there is something for everyone.”
