Agencies seeking input on area trails | Arts & Culture

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) – Wilmington and New Hanover County will present a draft of its greenway plan from 4 until 7 in at Carolina Beach Town Hall Wednesday night. The city and county want input from the public on the proposed greenway plan.

The plan will allow local governments to create a comprehensive network of sidewalks, walking trails and bike lane connections. It is being developed by the Wilmington Metropolitan Planning Organization with the city and county.

The agencies started the planning phase in January. The current draft was created after getting more than 3,600 public comments.

There will be two more meetings in different parts of the county for public input on the draft. One meeting will be Tuesday at Wilmington City Council chambers and the other will be Thursday at Ogden Elementary. Both will go from 4 until 7 p.m.
