CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) - Barton Hatcher has been named this year's artist for the 19th Annual Pleasure Island Seafood Blues & Jazz Festival.

His painting of a tropical-inspired musician playing the blues along the Cape Fear River at sunset will be featured during the festival.

Hatcher grew up in Bladen County and discovered his artistic talents at a young age. He is self-taught, and his works have been showcased in galleries across North Carolina.

Hatcher owns and operates Gardens by Barton, a landscape design business in Wilmington.

He will attend the festival to sign posters and offer more examples of his artwork.

Posters are on sale now at the Chamber office and will be available at the festival for as long as supplies last. T-shirts are coming soon.

For more information, call the Chamber at (910) 458-8434 or click here.
