KURE BEACH, NC (WECT) – Kure Beach sand is going to stay right where it belongs thanks to some help from a nearby town.
Kure Beach town leaders now have a plan to pay for beach renourishment, a project that recently fell through the state budget. Carolina Beach will give more than $1 million in state money to Kure Beach.
The General Assembly approved the plan on Monday.
Just in case that doesn’t work, Kure Beach has a back-up plan. Town leaders will pay $5,000 to New Hanover County for a loan.
