CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) - The Carolina Beach Aquatics Center Steering Committee will meet Thursday to continue discussing the Aquatics Center Project, according to the town’s website, and the public is welcome to attend.
Leaders in Carolina Beach decided that the coastal community could use a little more water for recreation, and town council approved the first stages of building of an aquatic center back in September.
The community pool would be located next to the recreation center. Council authorized $30,000 to study the area and a layout for design.
It also formed an ad hoc committee to determine the possibility of a swimming pool in the future.
Thursday’s meeting will be held at 4 p.m. in the conference room at the Carolina Beach Municipal Administration Building, which is located at 1121 N. Lake Park Blvd.
