CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) - Carolina Beach Town Council will hear updates on the progress being made to remove all town property off the Sunny Point buffer zone. The town has already moved several sheds, as well as a greenhouse.
Carolina Beach officials are still working with Army to determine what, if anything can remain on site. According to a memo from Town Manager Tim Owens, they have not yet received a response back from the Army, though a meeting is planned for November 28 on site with an Army official.
Additionally, Owens will be asking Town Council for an additional $42,000 in expenses to cover the relocation of the Operations Department.
