Graduation: Students to celebrate completion of DARE program | Children

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) – Fifth grade students from Carolina Beach Elementary are gearing up to graduate from the D.A.R.E. program Thursday.

Carolina Beach Police Officer Larry Ward taught the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program to this group of students.

The classes are designed to give students the life skills they need to avoid involvement with drugs, gangs and violence.

Students are writing essays and the winning student’s theme will be awarded at the graduation.
