Salute Our Troops tour travels through Wilmington, Supply | Community Spirit

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) — The Salute Our Troops fully-refurbished 1952 Willys CJ-3 Jeep will travel through Wilmington Tuesday and Wednesday to raise awareness and donations for the campaign.

The Salute Our Troops campaign has raised more than $1.35 million in the first two months, according to a news release. Funds raised will benefit the USO of North Carolina, the Wounded Warrior Project and the North Carolina National Guard Soldiers and Airmen Assistance Fund.

The tour will stop at the following locations:

Tuesday, August 9

• 3053 Castle Hayne Road, 8 until 10 a.m.
• 2400 North College Road, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
• 6648 Gordon Road, 4 until 6 p.m.

Wednesday, August 10

• 6759 Carolina Beach Road, 8 until 10 a.m.
• 5715 Castle Hayne Road, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
• 16 Ocean Highway West in Supply, 4 until 6 p.m.

Residents can record video salutes to the military and receive free samples from Salute Our Troops sponsors.
