Google Maps camera car spotted in Carolina Beach
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) – Smile! You'll never know when you'll be caught on camera -- a Google Maps camera car was spotted cruising the streets of Carolina Beach Thursday.
The camera cars, like the one pictured, usually have large cameras mounted to the top of them to take photos from all angles along public roads. When the taken images are put together, they create the panoramic Street View tool that Google Maps users can utilize.
The car seen Thursday was spotted near the Michaelangelo's in Carolina Beach.
