CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) – Rain dumped on much of southeastern North Carolina Wednesday morning, causing localized flooding in areas.
Officers in Carolina Beach shut down Canal Drive to Carolina Beach Avenue North Wednesday morning due to flooding.
According to First Alert Meteorologist Eric Davis, two inches of rain fell in Carolina Beach during the heavy downpours.
Davis said an area of low pressure near the Carolina coast will keep the weather unsettled throughout the day. A few peaks of sunshine should be enough for highs to reach the upper 80s.
