NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - According to agents with Intracoastal Realty Corporation, home and land sales in Carolina and Kure Beaches are up 19 percent, compared to this time last year and rentals are up 50 percent.
Christine Higgins, co-owner with Artful Living group, says since July business is up 35%. According to Higgins, many customers who recently moved to the island are buying crafts and art pieces for their new homes.
Real estate agents at Intracoastal say more people are renting throughout the winter due to an increase in the town's marketing.
