Beach town looks for social media manager

Beach town looks for social media manager

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) – The town of Carolina Beach is shopping around for someone to manage its online image.

Town leaders will consider outsourcing its social media management at their next meeting.

Mayor Bob Lewis said several council members and the police department already keep up with sites like Facebook and Twitter, but the town itself is lacking.

Lewis said he envisions the increased online presence to help inform citizens of updates to major projects like improvements to the water and sewer system.

Roughly $6,000 is already set aside for the job in the town’s budget this year.
