Nat'l Weather Service storm team surveys damage | Weather

PLEASURE ISLAND, NC (WECT) – A storm team from the National Weather Service was in Carolina and Kure Beaches Thursday to survey the damage from the storms Wednesday.

While no funnel clouds were reported, damaging winds brought down fences and toppled equipment in the southern part of New Hanover County.

The fence around the patio at The Last Resort on Lake Park Boulevard was knocked down. Chairs were also blown around.

The survey team hopes to have a full assessment of the damage from Pleasure Island by the end of Thursday.
